Ordering a QuickBuild Kit

Ordering the QuickBuild Wing Kit

You may now order a QuickBuild Wing Kit for the RV-7/7A, RV-8/8A, RV-9/9A, RV-10 or RV-14/14A and have your wings built to QuickBuild status while you work on your empennage or fuselage kit at home.

QuickBuild wings can really speed up your project. All skins except one are installed and riveted. The fuel tanks are sealed and pressure checked. The ailerons and flaps arrive completed and ready to install. The basic wing “box” is riveted together and is rigid enough to handle without fear of distortion. Prefabricated, gold-anodized spars are used. All parts are primed before assembly. The work that remains for you includes riveting on the last skin, installing a fuel pick-up and fuel level sender, installing the control system, attaching the flap brace and aileron gap seal and installing the fiberglass wing tips.

For the RV-7/7A, RV-9/9A and RV-10 a wing kit includes the spar center section. The center section is not included in wing kit for the RV-8/8A and RV-14/14A (in those cases, it is delivered in the Fuselage Kit). If you already have a RV-7/7A, 9/9A or 10 fuselage with a center section, please advise the kit order team of that fact when you place you wing order.

To order a QuickBuild wing kit, you may select the QB option under the Wing Kit section of the order form for the aircraft model you are ordering. If you want to order both QB wings and fuselage at the same time, and that option is also available on the order form.

Ordering the QuickBuild Fuselage Kit

You may now order a Fuselage QuickBuild Kit for the RV-7/7A, RV-8/8A, RV-9/9A, RV-10 or RV-14/14A.

A QuickBuild fuselage is approximately 75% complete. The majority of the aluminum structure is riveted together. All parts are primed before assembly.

For the RV-7/7A, RV-9/9A and RV-10, if you’ve already taken delivery of a wing kit with a center section and are ordering a QuickBuild fuselage kit (which has a center section built in), we’ll ask you to return the wing spar center section components that were included with your wing kit for a credit, assuming they are undamaged and in a like-new condition that allows them to be resold. If have not received a wing kit yet and you are ordering a fuselage kit first (uncommon but it happens), you’ll need to purchase a few extra components early that are normally shipped with the wing kit. Of course, you can order both the wing and fuselage QB kits at the same time, which simplifies these steps. Our Kit Order Department representatives will explain the details and ensure everything is sorted out when you place your order. Note that this situation doesn’t apply to the RV-8/8A or RV-14 kits, since the center sections for those aircraft are shipped in the fuselage kits.
