Mike Cummings’s RV-10 | Wellsboro, PA RV-10 #41824
Congratulations to Mike, who reports on the first flight of his new R-10:
N66VK flew for the first time on October 5th, 2019 for just over 2 hours at 75% plus power. What an exciting flight, with few minor adjustments the plane now has close to 60 hours. The RV-10 is such an efficient, smooth and fast airplane, I just love it. I’ve already completed two trips down the Hudson Corridor and have many other trips planned.
I started the build on December 2nd, 2017 and logged a minimum of 30 hours per week of shop time. Thanks to the quick build fuselage and wings I was able to complete the build in 22 months. The fun part was all about learning to work with new and exciting things such as aluminum, fiberglass, paint, and electrical and seeing it all come together.
There are so many I would like to thank who supported me along the way, you know who you are and a big thanks goes out to: friends and family, members of the local flying club, our local A&P, several northeast RV10 owners/builders, Van’s, the Van’s Airforce Forum, Stein Air, Lycoming, EAA, and lastly my wife Jean and my daughter Jessica who truly made this project possible.
