Mark Misage’s RV-12 | Austin, TX RV-12 (original) #120327

Congratulations to Mark on the completion and first flight of his RV-12! He writes:

N624RV took to the skies for the first time on December 11, 2023, in the able hands of Hank Seidel, who landed an hour later sporting the Van’s grin and reporting a beautiful flier with zero squawks! We have been working on “Buddy” for nearly 14 years, both at home and at our T74 hangar, and while we enjoyed every minute of the journey, we are so excited to see where our plane will now take us!

Thanks to the countless friends and family who pulled rivets and helped in so many other ways. Thanks to the thousands of Westlake High School physics students who have followed our project over the years. Thank you to H.E.B. for helping to fund my build through their generous Excellence in Education Lifetime Achievement Award. Thanks to Van’s for such a wonderfully designed kit and a beautiful plane.

Special thanks to Hank for being our test pilot and for helping a rusty pilot regain skills. Thanks, Dad, for taking the time when I was growing up to teach me how to work with tools and all things mechanical and for instilling in me a love of aviation. And finally, the most special thanks to my co-pilot and the love of my life for helping me to pursue this dream!
