Congratulations John! He writes:
Since the first rivet was driven 3 years, 7 months, 3 weeks, and 1 day ago, N683JT left the earth for the first time the morning of 7/22/22. It was a 47 min flight that reached an altitude as high as 5,168 ft, and achieved a ground speed that went up to 172mph. The test pilot said it flew incredible. Zero issues. The flight controls performed perfect. No heavy wing nor were there any other surprises.
I have to shout a huge thanks to my wife… my “Rosie the Riveter” who helped in so many ways on this project and was so supportive throughout the entire build… not to mention she was cool having a set of wings in the living room for two years, the tailcone upright in her home office, and the stabilator, vertical stab, and rudder in spare bedrooms, and the fuselage in the garage for over a year.
This was an incredibly fun build that paid off with a flawless first flight. Keep pounding those rivets guys, it will all be worth it in the end.
…and yes we all got that “RV Grin”!!
