Glenn Vokac’s RV-8 | Oswego, Illinois RV-8 #83182
Congrats to Glenn on the first flight of his RV-8! He wrote in to report:
My RV-8, serial number #83182 had a successful first flight on May 14, 2021with only a few minor squawks. This is the second RV-8 I have built and flown. The engine is an IO-360-M1B with a Hartzell blended airfoil prop, both purchased from Van’s. The panel is all Dynon. The markings are representative of my favorite P-51D “Petie 2nd” from the 352 FG, 487th FS during WWII. A special heartfelt thank you to my wife Alicia, and kids Brett and Shannon for their unwavering support over 20 years of building and flying these wonderful machines. I also need to thank my great friends Michael Foss (RV-8), Tom Ellis (RV-8), Lee Brinley (Lancair ES-P), Matt and Jana Trofimchuck (RV-7) and Peter DeCraene (RV-7) for all their support and encouragement over the years. Lastly, thank you to Van’s for a great kit and customer service.
