First Flight of Hugh Finnan’s New RV-12iS | Seattle, WA RV-12iS #121184
Congrats, Hugh. He writes in to tell us:
My first flight was out of Paine Field in Everett. Weather was good enough to climb to 3500 ft above the airport for the first flight. Initially, I had my coolant temps rise up close to the red line as I waited for clearance to takeoff. I had to shut down for a bit to cool things off, but once temps were back in line again, I took off to circle around the airport. Plane performed well and the engine sounded great. I was expecting a heavy wing of some kind but none existed which was a nice surprise. It flew perfectly straight first time. I tested the autopilot, calibrated the AOA and all seemed good.
