First Flight of Darren Fern’s New RV-8 | Truro, Cornwall, UK RV-8 #83696

Congrats to Darren in the UK on the first flight of his new RV-8! Darren worked with us to arrange a paint design we happen to like a lot. We look forward to future videos where that aerobatic logo still reads right-side-up while inverted! Darren writes to tell us:

After selling my Husky, I wanted something else that would fly far and fast, yet still let me land in mountain strips in Europe. It had to be an RV-8!

It’s been a life-affirming process, consuming over 2600 hours and I’ve learned so many new skills. Builder support from Van’s and the whole Van’s community has been superb!

My first flight was superb…she flies straight with hands off all controls, and climb rate is jaw-dropping!. Look at my short video that shares my story.
