Douglas Rohrer’s RV-9A | Bowling Green, KY RV-9A #91593
Congrats to Douglas, who sends us his build and first flight story!
I bought an abandoned project. The tail feathers were built and the wings were started. I finished building the wings and ordered a QB fuselage. Later came the rest of the kits. I built an O-320 engine from yellow-tagged and new components. I hired an experienced pilot and A&P to do first flight. All went well except no airspeed indication other than GPS speed on the Garmin G3X. Turns out I had the pitot and AOA tubes reversed. Easy fix. The plane flies great and I look forward to going into Phase I testing.
