I became the owner of the RV-7 s/n 72206 on August 25, 2021 and on September 19, 2021 it was destroyed by a tornado while it was parked in the hangar at Carpi airport (Italy, ICAO code LIDU). In May 2022 my insurance paid me the damage, in July 2022 I ordered the Kit and in October, as soon as the empennages arrived I started the construction almost full time. It was the first airplane I was building and so I dedicated to the construction, the attention that really important things deserve. On August 15th 2024 I carried out the first start-up and then, while waiting for the Permit To Fly, I proceeded to renew the taildrag endorsement and prepare all the aircraft manuals. The inspector from the Club Aviazione Popolare (CAP), similar to the American EAA, followed me in every phase of the assembly. Sunday the 10th November my plane took off from the grass strip in Mazzè, Torino ITALY (ICAO LIFM) and after about 20 minutes a new RVGrin filled the Italian sky. Now I’m continuing with the test flights but every time I get up into the sky I thank heaven and Van’s for giving me the opportunity to experience this type of emotion! RV grin….what else?!?!?!
