Christoph Schnyder RV-12 #120832
On Nov.24th, after a few weeks of waiting and praying for the weather to improve, my MagicCarpet has finally airborne. The first flight took about 35 min. and it was a very successful and flawlessly flight. The plane has a fantastic balanced handling behavior and yet is still agile. And the outside view is really extarordinary.
The project started in June 2014 and it took me a little over 2000h in total to complete the build, followed by something like 9 month for final assembly, exterior painting, acceptance testing and certification.
At this point I would like to say “Thank you!” to all my friends, new friends and special friends. Without your help and support I wouldn’t have been able to complete this amazing story which eventually ended up it great success.
Also a big thanks to all the Van’s staff for their amazing job in crating, delivering and outstanding customer support. You are truly awesome.
Building, owning and flying a Van’s RV-12 is definitely very rewarding and I see myself privileged for this lifetime experience.
My RV-12 has a single Dynon SV-1000T with round dial backup gauges for altitude and airspeed. It also features a FLARM collision avoidance system and has the full interior package with sidewalls, custom leather seats and carpets.
The aircraft is based in Switzerland at LSPL, a small airport out in the green.
