There are few times in life where years of effort result in one defining moment – but making the first flight in an aircraft you built is one of those, and what a great moment it was. So much support from friends and family enabled the RV dream to come true on May 19th for me. The RV-7 design made it look easy too! This is my second aircraft build, the first being a Sonex from plans and although the Sonex will always be my first love the RV-7 is taking my aviation passion to another level. Many thanks to my wife Patti, my daughter Melissa, and my son Andrew, the best bucking partner one can have.
