Finally, after almost 13 years, my RV-8 #82906 slipped the surly bonds quickly and effortlessly on 8/29/2021. The first flight went without any issues, it tracked straight on the ground and flew hands off in the air. Life and work pushed the project to the back burner on several occasions, but perseverance and tenacity won the battle. N422EL was a slow build kit in every sense of the word. I was pleased when it weighed 1055 lbs. It’s powered by an overhauled Lycoming O-360A4A with a Sensenich metal prop and dual Pmags. The avionics are Dynon SkyViewTouch w/ autopilot and ADS-B. Thank you to Van’s Aircraft and those who helped me along the way…..you know who you are!
