We understand that building your own airplane is an incredibly rewarding experience, but certain tasks—like assembling fuel tanks—can be complex and time-consuming. Based on your feedback from airshows, phone calls, and surveys, we’ve created a solution to make your build easier and faster: Pre-Built Fuel Tanks for the RV-14/14A and RV-10 wing kits. You can now choose pre-built fuel tanks that are tested and inspected in-house, then shipped to you. This option helps you skip one of the more complex parts of the build and keeps your project moving forward. Please note, pre-built fuel tanks are sold only as a complete set.
Pricing Information:
- $4,460: For customers who have already received their wing kit and wish to upgrade to pre-built fuel tanks. (Note: we cannot accept returns or offer credit for standard fuel tank parts if you upgrade to pre-built tanks.)
- $3,795: For new or open wing kit orders. This price reflects a lower cost because some fuel tank components are already included in the wing kit price.
Important Details:
- Eligibility for Upgrade: You can only upgrade to pre-built fuel tanks if you have not yet received a final payment request on your existing standard wing kit order.
- QuickBuild Orders: If you have an existing QuickBuild (QB) wing kit order, you cannot cancel it and switch to a standard wing kit order with the pre-built fuel tank option. QuickBuild kits are already in production, and we are unable to modify these orders.

Pre-built fuel tanks are now in stock and available for purchase through the RV-10 and RV-14/14A kit order forms, as well as our webstore. To update your open wing kit order, simply email kits@vansaircraft.com with a request to upgrade to pre-built fuel tanks.
